- Opera and old town in Bari
- Polignano a mare
- Alberrobello
- Locorotondo
- Ostuni
- Matera ( not officially Puglia)
- Lecce
Puglia is a place I plan on returning to. For a winter trip Bari is central with trains to Matera, Lecce and other towns. I travelled by car for part of this trip and some trains were cancelled due to bad weather while I was there. The opera in Bari Town was excellent. The waves crashing off Polignano a mare were unforgettable. The dwellings of Matera and Alberrobello both unique and not overcrowded in winter. I loved Lecce. Lunch at La cucina di Mamma Elvira was among the best I’ve ever had, maybe the best! Italy is such a great country with many fantastic areas to explore. Puglia is not to be missed!
